Skin-Deep

The Transformation of Jame Gumb

These designs are for Skin-Deep: The Transformation of Jame Gumb, a sixteen-episode limited series I am working on that chronicles the life of the serial killer Jame Gumb from Thomas Harris’ groundbreaking 1988 novel The Silence of the Lambs. The series will explore Gumb’s tumultuous life and the experiences that shaped him into the infamous skin-stealing slayer known as “Buffalo Bill.” Spanning from 1948 to 1983, Skin-Deep will explore various fashion eras along with innovative designs inspired by Gumb’s twisted fantasies and work as a tailor and couturier. And, of course, there will be skin suits galore, allowing for an grisly blend of haute couture and horror that demonstrates Jame’s pathological desire to transform.

The Silence of the Lambs and all related characters, events, etc. belong to Thomas Harris - this is merely a passion project aiming to delve deeper into a character that has always intrigued me and whose fascinating backstory is stripped away in the film adaption. For more information about my progress on the series, check out the Skin-Deep page.
